Field of Bone. As an iksar it's nice to visit a place where the guards don't want your ass

in South Karana hunting Quillmane. I would witness the whole day/night cycle in that zone, including really beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Even with those 1999 graphics, Norrath can be so immersive and captivating. I felt like I really was this adventurer experiencing days and nights in the wilderness, with the sky as my only roof and the sun and stars as my only lights (probably with some additional lighting from those Ragefire vambraces).

Running across the Karanas has stopped being a chore for me when I realized the sunrise sky over the neon green plaque mists is actually quite beautiful! I also have fond memories of the lonely beauty of the sunrise over the Ocean of Tears, but not fond enough to repeat the cross-zone swim that resulted in such a moment.

During one playthrough, I was a Gnome enchanter. I would go into Dark Elf illusion and hang out in the Blind Fish in Neriak to do my research. The dim Neriak ambiance, the underwater view, and the quiet dignity of the zone were so vivid to me.
Oh man, I love the Blind Fish. Definitely my log-out spot of choice for all of eastern Antonica.

Sadly, I can't say that Steamfont is as accepting of my dark-elf rogue as Neriak was of your gnome enchanter. The zoo staff in particular is still quite touchy about catching me murdering their tigers, and I haven't yet assembled the minotaur statue made entirely of minotaur horns that the King robot demands in order to let me walk the streets free of robot assault.

On live it was PoTranquility near the PoStorms/BoT entrances. On P99 I don't really just sit places just to sit.
Exactly what I was going to say. I sat in that zone fishing for hours with that relaxing music that zone had. Also I think the zone name was Natimbi, The Broken Shores in the Gates of Discord expac was also a good vacation/fishing spot.

Ocean of Tears. I could level a character from 8 to 60 in that zone only, if there was a playerbase for it (and if I wanted to level an alt at a reasonable pace for some reason); the zone content certainly supports it. It's disgusting that the Seafuries got nerfed, it was such a fun PvP zone too. Velious era sucks.

I also don't get why the p99 devs flipped the zone connections years ago. That was entirely not classic and served no relevant purpose. Like, yeah, it logistically doesn't make sense how boats leaving from Freeport traveled "West" and from Butcherblock they went "East", but that's how it was in the game. In one way it does make sense, with the idea of sailors getting lost out in the Ocean, or maybe even some kind of magic spell on the whole ocean placed by a God. Who knows, but that's how it was.
They also didn't actually correct what was technically incorrect with the zone. The boat was actually traveling the correct way in the zone the entire time. What is actually the big secret of that zone, which is revealed by using /loc and observing the coordnates, beaches, houses, and things printed on things: the zone file in classic is accidentally a mirror image of itself. The entire zone is pulled through itself as if the entire zone was being observed through a mirror.

My new Dark Elf Wizard uses Fay Gate as his escape of choice. I'm a neutral-good dark elf, but i'm still surrounded by a civilization who will kill me only for being blue, and yet that spot with the spire is isolated from the elves, and the animals, and there is only green, a few trees and rocks around me, and everyone leaving me alone while I recover.

I love hanging out at the waterfall in front of Thurg! It’s a pretty peaceful place
