It does in fact drop off the shardwurm matriarch in the shardwurm caves. Got one today.
MONSTER PET SUB-TYPES, By Gilinea (6/9/2001)

I've been trying to keep track of what the pets summoned with this will cast. You get 6 different types. There is a 'decoy' type, which casts the purple AoE 'staggers in pain,' and earth type which roots, and air type that stuns, one that casts the water pet ice DD, and two different fire types.
One fire type will always damage shield, but never used the DD. The other type will always DD, but never uses the damage shield. If you don't see the pet casting anything, it's probably a Damage Shield type. I haven't noticed that any of them have signifigantly different hitpoints, so I think that they randomly select a spell from the types of spells Magician pets are able to cast. They don't appear to be affected by Focus items at all though.

ANCIENT SHARDWURMS IN THE GREAT DIVIDE, By Mikaelah (6/8/2001)

Went out spell hunting the other day and we came out with this spell as well as Shroud of Pain, Elemental Malestrom, and a necro spell that escapes me at the moment. Spent about 4 hours there. Came out with a Crystalline Eye and a Shardwurm Eye as well. Easy to camp for hours upon hours inside the cave. Our party consisted of three mid 30s, myself at 47 and two healers at 52. 31 wurms down, no Celestial Healing. I hate you people that say you got the spell in 2 kills, etc. Been killing only ancient and guardian wurms, seen 6 spells. Going to keep trying. My friend spent 2 days in GD, full group, no drop :/. Also, someone mentioned that there guildie bought 3 copies of this spell at the pirate camp...where is that?

Spent about 2 hours camping the Wurms in Great Divide. Got this and a lvl 39 SK spell. Both of them dropped off of the Guardian Wurms, but I guess the drop is totally random.
Oh yeah, a hint to all of you who are accompanied by, or happen to be, a Druid. If he/she offers you wolf form, throw something heavy at him. The Coldain guards don't like wolves and will attack you and force you to evac back to DL feeling rather silly.

I was camped the Shardwurms in GD for about 4 yellows of lvl 45.. then spent lvl 46-49 with an /auc hot key wanting to buy it. The only person I found wanting to sell wanted 4.5Kpp for it. Too rich for my blood.
Finnaly found someone who was willing to sell it.. at lvl 50. Still a good spell at that level, just a SUPER huge pain to get. I'm hoping they up the drop rate (P.S. Saw 6 Boon of Garou (ench 44 spell) drop in my time in the Shardwurm caves, not fair!!)
