I am having same problem, followed the "getting Started" link, only thing I didn't do was install wineq2 files..

Server screen comes up blank and states "Could not reach eqemulator.com. Trying again in 30 seconds" and just keeps looping.

Anyone know what is going on?

I am having the same problem. Clearing my cookies under internet options did not help.
Does anyone know a fix?

If the EQEMU server is blank, and it says cannot connect :
Make sure you have version 1.24 (current).
If it's not, check around here or the EQ EMU forums for an up to date copy(someone could mail you the files if needed).

If you get past that and find no servers in the game server list, and you're a netgear(could work on other routers) owner, try this :

There's a default setting that could be causing your issue.

It's called "Port scan and DDOS protection" <--- changed name over the years. It's most likely to found under the "WAN" section in your router's browser page.
You need to uncheck this feature, then relogin to EQ.
Yes it's ok to turn it off, you won't get 'hax0r3d'

That's it, servers should now show.
