Default Mesmerization (lvl 16 AoE Mez) Hitting players over Lvl 56

Last night I managed to hit myself and another level 60 enchanter with the level 16 AoE mez. We both should be immune to its effects by all accounts. This was done in the freeport arena once, and we were dueling the other time.

Will edit in some research as I get time to do it.

We just had this fixed on the pvp server

Players did not take lvl range into account for mezzes

Mesmerize and Charm effects don't care about level when cast on a PC.

If you were ever in PoFire during PoP you'd recall the Doomfire Diviners would charm you with Command of Druzzil, which caps at 64, even though you were 65.

Pretty sure it is same deal with mezzes. Will have to investigates.

Let me know what you find. As I understand, the level restriction did not apply vs players.

the only thing you should be immune to at 56+ is your own AE mez that you cast. you are never immune to someone else's AE mez because of your level.

the reason you hit yourself with an AE mez is because you were flagged as pvp at the time. that is where the focus of this investigation should go.
Wait, what? Chanter ranting at puller for bringing the train too close and making him AoE mez himself definitely happened on live. Whether that was true all the way back pre-Velious is a bit hazy, but I definitely remember that shit from live.

After level 56 you're supposed to be immune. I think the PVP flag may have done it. This was in the WFP arena.
