Is the fancy sky also forced now? I think I remember messing with those sky settings in the past, and when it was set to anything beyond the simplest setting, that caused huge performance problems for me.

It may be some part of what's causing it now. Is that in any way related to the dynamic lighting stuff?

I changed the file name and it worked...for a minute. I logged back in just now and it is back to how it was before with the lag.

Default What I have tried.

I renamed the eqclient.ini file and things got better.

After several logins, I got an XML crash and a new eqclient.ini file was created somehow.

Re-named the newly created file. Logged in and all my old video settings and keybinds were also gone. The super brightness is back but not having the lag issues so far.

I then logged back in again and now I have an SoE agreement type statement and after clicking agree it crashed again.

That's where I am so far.

Tried this and it seemed to work for a bit, but not sure if it was just placebo, then it went back to the same laggy issue shortly after.

Same here, lag in EC with 20 people is worse than it was prepatch at 10 year event with 500.

The game is nearly unplayable if you are around 20 people with fancy epics and light sources.

Feels like a mix between stop motion cartoon and a flip book in terms of game play crispness.

One of the best parts of EQ in terms of replayability is the smoothness you can complete your actions from instant click items to spells that need a quick reaction to cast.

This lag has basically made the game autoattack only on raids.
