I liked savage alpine trail in Denali National park. Seeing mt McKinley, even from a distance, is breathtaking. Plus we went at 0700 and there was no one there. Awesome piece of nature

My wife liked Grace ridge that you have to take a boat to from Homer. That was really cool as well but the first two miles are 8 foot tall ferns and mosquitoes so dense they’re on your eyelids. I thought I was in Jurassic park. Once we cleared that (9 mile hike), it was stunning.

Neither of those was close to anchorage. In the anchorage area, I’d say eagle and symphony lakes

Rain still doesn’t compare to Houston but it just started raining like a mother fucker in anchorage. This is like day 20 in a row for rain

“Sun” (its been cloudy / rainy for 3 weeks) still out from 6 am to 10 pm. Sadly, not yet

I hear late September / Early October it’s possible to see them in anchorage, but better up north in Fairbanks. I’m definitely looking forward to it

Oh shit you know what? There is a huge CME hitting the earth right now.

The weather channel I watch says there should be epic norther lights this early morning.

Hope you see it!!!

Theyre those flares you see off the sun, explosions like 100 times the size of the earth or like even bigger I guess. Pretty crazy to imagine but sometimes they explode in a way that make the shockwave hit the earth, and it creates cool visual effects in the sky.

I like to keep updated on them because Im hoping one knocks down the power grid and sends us back to the stone age.
