Default Build custom UI?

I have tried messing around with custom ui files and haven't had any luck. I have also searched here and only found duxa's ui. I am wondering if there is a guide or if anybody could help me figure out how to replace certain things or build a custom UI?

Can i just copy/paste one of the default ones and overwrite certain boxes/windows etc?

Each EQUI_*.xml file is a component of the UI. Any components you do not load in a custom UI will be populated by the default UI files. If you'd like to create a custom UI, make a folder in your UI folder, we'll call it Custom. Then drop in any EQUI_*.xml files for UI portions you'd like to replace (and any other necessary files for the component), then load P99. Finally, do a /loadskin custom (name must be equivalent to folder name above) and it'll create you're new UI. Ensure you are using UI components compatible with the Titanium client.
