Default Resonant BP effect not getting instrument bonus

Just got my bard's thurg breastplate a couple of nights ago, and the clickable selos song of travel doesn't seem to receive instrument bonuses. Compared to the same song played normally, with the same selos drum equipped, run speed is much much slower.

Running some basic google searching doesn't seem to turn up anyone discussing/complaining about this back during classic, so I'm hoping it is a bug? (Or maybe I'm just not hitting the magic search term...) I was really pumped to save a spell slot with this upgrade, but that's a no go as the effect presently stands. Has anyone else looked into this?

There are several Selos Song of Travel in the spell data file.

The one present on Bard Velious BPs is a unique spell ID that has a 5 min duration and has no associated instrument skill.

The one in your book is a bard song with 3 tick duration and percussion as it’s associated skill.

In sort it doesn’t modify because it doesn’t recognize that clicky as a bard song. Which is correct behavior. The bard BP click has always been fairly useless.

Thanks so much for taking the time to break it down for me Daldaen! With that, I think this topic can safely be moved to resolved.

Having a freebie 5min group invis/lev/semi-speed outdoor buff, still has its uses I suppose if I don't happen to have travel song mem'd. Since you can cast it while moving, the duration isn't such an issue, but man it would be great if instrument mods applied. Doh well. I should probably figure out how to contribute to the wiki and add this info to the velious quest armor pages for the benefit of other aspiring bards out there.
