Got it from my bro, but that still doesn't fix the problem. I think the issue is somehow with the Moe's tavern site...

Same issue. I can't update to 1.24 and I am getting the spell file (sp-1) error when launching from eqgame.exe shortcut. Has anyone had any luck?

I'm going to try a fresh install tomorrow and will post an update.

I just discovered Project 1999 today and am more anxiously awaiting this than Christmas.

That Launcher is ... crap. They seriously need to either fix it or quit telling people to use it.

For those having problems: Try Duxa's All-In-One Installer. It will update all of the files necessary to play here.

Once you get that done, log into P99 without the Launcher! Do this instead.

I'm just coming back to the game and did a fresh install tonight.

The launcher would not work/update, so I followed Zereh's instructions as I would prefer to skip it anyway. I installed Duxa's All-In-One Installer and accessed the game without the launcher, but got the outdated spell error message. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

EDIT

finally got it working...manually updated the last patch changes from here

In!

The launcher patched itself this morning just fine, but I was getting timeout errors at the login screen. (I had updated the eqhost file, but am not sure if that was the issue as it was seemingly the same as it was prior to patching.) I re-ran Duxa's and chose not to update the eqhost file the second time around and got in just fine.

Hope that helps if anyone is still having issues.

the launcher is not the problem.. the website is being DDoS'd almost every night from not too few zombies.. if you dont want to use the launcher, dont use it [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
