Default 1hs skill?

Will 1hs skill go up if it’s in the off hand (duel wield)? I’m lvl 18 and just got my first 1hs weapon. I dumped 30 skill points into it too.
Thanks

Yes, it will just go up slowly at low levels is all. You only have a chance for skills against mobs that give xp and only when your offhand swings. At low level your dual world skill is low, so you won't swing much. I'm nearing 40 and am finally seeing them stsrt to level up at roughly the sameish rate now that my dual wield is close to 200.

i wouldn't put any points into 1hs, 2hs, 2hb etc....because they are so easy....

i never trained 2hs. so when i first got a 2hs weapons at lvl 60, i started killing kael for faction and maxed out 2hs in 2 hours.

also my rogue who mains piercing and offhand 1hs, he also maxed 1hs pretty fast...
