And Jumbeat called, "kill him, kill him!" And so I slew him. Took the crown from his head and turned to show my friend "look Jumbeat!" THE CROWN OF THE GOBLIN KING!!! Log in or Register.] I was alone again. My companions slain before my very eyes. I had a new hat, it was true... but it wasn't worth it. I dragged Jumbeat's corpse back to my other friends.. Alas, I cannot reveal in full what was behind the door!
I would rather the handle have been cursed and my sword hand fallen off when I placed my fingers 'pon the knob, than suffer what I saw behind those wooden panels. I swung wide the door and beheld the Nameless Terror It struck my chest with but a glance and left me clawing at the ground desperately trying to escape My armor was ruined Blood choked in my lungs I knew this was no foe I could fight!! FILBUSSSSSSSSS!! it hissed at the sound of its wailing shriek, I screamed Curled up like an infant on the bloody floor of Doom And welcomed death Whose cold embraced seemed like the warm teat of my dead Mother compared to this fiend. As I lay on the ground, my old trusty Leatherfoot Raider cap rolled out of my pocket I froze The Dread was upon me but in my berzerker rage I saw clearly How to survive So I grabbed the cap with the last of my strength and teleported to safety, to the West Commonlands! I was found a week later Trembling in the bushes muttering insane things And when I ask my rescuers what I said, they could tell me only one thing that was sensible enough to repeat... "The horror, the horror!!" | ||
