There are so many of varieties of gamers each with their reasons for playing. I wish I had the available mental resources to...scratch that...the amazing attention to detail required to notice Skyshrine NPCs improperly located, certain combat/spell mechanics that went along with the plethora of mobs. Certain players would like to contribute but maybe feel like they can't in an effective manner. And yes, I'm sure there are a few who had desires to develop their pixels over the holiday weekend and are salty they can't.

We could be constructive and suggest other means to contribute that may appeal to the masses to benefit the programmers.

I do know a thing or two after playing for the better part of 15 years. =P

I'm sure there are lots of things that could use some testing besides raid content.

The point is, the server shutdown is beneficial for all, even if you're not the one doing the testing. But not surprisingly, people on this server always want to have their cake and eat it too.

Add that and an increased intake of alcohol, little to no recollection possible of Velious other than that there's a lot of snow, and work. Weirdest thing is that it got cold for little bit here, and, well, Skyrim.

Only 280 people logged into the beta server now, where that number would normally be 1200 on blue. Smashing success, if the goal was to get people to do other stuff besides play EQ.

280 necessary testers and many times more than are usually on the beta server. Sorry you can't play your free video game for 2 days.

Yeah the whole "sorry you can't play your free game" response probably makes you feel super smug but the reality is that I donate and many of us do, and many would gladly pay a monthly fee if it were legal. Go away with that stupid argument. This server would be absolutely nothing if it weren't for the few thousand of us who are here to play it. What good is a dead server? They could have found more creative and effective ways to encourage beta testing, but Sirken admitted that the only two options he could think of were to just let beta hang out there, or to "force" it.
