Black screen near Cabilis skill vendors

I seem to be having an issue where I get a black screen video 'crash' when I go from Field of Bones to the trade "island" in East Cabilis. The game still responds to controls - I can hear sound and activity - but no video whatsoever.

I am playing windowed at 2560x1440, so it does not seem to be related to fullscreen switching or anything like that

Does not seem tied to "time played" either, the only factor seems to be moving from Field of Bone (or perhaps other zones, have not tried yet) to this area.

Not really "game breaking" but very frustrating and inconvenient - any info to resolve this would be appreciated
