Default Necro Charm feasibility

Hey all, first post. I'm a relatively new player that just came back from a year break or so. I've been playing an iksar necro which I just got to level 40 (this is my highest level character on the server).

So I've spent the entirety of my 30's charm killing and I went back to fear kiting today and it bores me to tears after charming for the last 10 levels. My question is - if I wanted to level/play exclusively through charming solo would it serve me to reroll as an enchanter or is there enough undead content to keep me occupied on my Necro?

I know Lguk has been mentioned many times but I was planning on visiting Kaesora. Is there any other places that come to mind that are quiet that I would be able to charm and get some exp at level 40?

Thanks!

Kaesora --> Lguk ---> Howling Stones will get you 40 - 60 if charming is your bag.

The validity of necro charm leveling is actually quite good.
The benefit of FD even if it's a cast is super helpful.

As Caiu mentioned. Dead side of Lower Guk and Howling Stones (charasis). Just be aware that charasis will ruin your outpost faction in other there.

More zones with some undead..
Tower of Frozen Shadow
Kithicor Forest (night time)
Emerald Jungle (apes)
Trakanon's Teeth
Dreadlands
City of Mist
Karnor's Castle
Burning Woods
Old Sebilis

CoM you can start at probably 44 or 45. But, if charming is what your after, rolling an enchanter might not be a terrible idea. It gives you a few more options of places to go and opens your tool box up some. I've been playing an enc and honestly the only thing I miss about my necro is the hp regen. Everything else along charming lines is much more enjoyable as an enc.

charming is hilariously better than any other form non-pl leveling, save for maybe bard swarm kiting. there's plenty of undead and necro's have great tools. i never looked back after level 20. even factoring in deaths from bad luck breaks, it's worth it.

get an insta charm breaking item, like pre nerf cos or gazaghi ring.

make friends with a cleric or sham if you want to duo.

FD will insta-break charm, racial hide will also work but not as reliably.

Getting a CoS is your #1 priorty for many reasons.

Where did you charm in your 30s?

If you like to SOLO charming more than anything, I'd definitely recommend sticking with necro.

Enchanter is good at killing solo but really shines when duoing with some kind of support class such as cleric or shaman or druid, etc. You can charm both living and undead and are a lot better at breaking tough spawns but the drawback is that if you get a bad run in with the RNG you'll have to sit on your butt regening back HP for a long time, die or cap out.

Necros have the very big get out of jail card called Feigh Death... Not to mention that you can heal yourself with life taps, significantly reducing downtime. It's a much more laid back class to play when soloing.

I would recommend playing both to about level 40 and just pick the one have most fun with. By 40, both classes are sufficiently representative of what they will be at 60 when it comes to charm soloing to make a somewhat informed decision.

In my 30s I camped the skeletons in the crypt off the underwater tunnel in Field of Bone. All undead and they are dubious no matter what so if I got into trouble could just FD and start again. Was good to get an idea of the playstyle - really a great spot.
