Respectfully, there's precious little "natural" about that portion of the lower Mississippi. What's going on is more of an engineering failure. That's why part of my brain screams at calling it a natural disaster--it's something of a weasel word (akin to "act of god") as a means of escaping liability. Note also that this point is wholly separate from any climate-related argument.

Yeah they did fuck the entire basin. This is truth. They had a natural barrier for storms until the 60's and 70's. Then they started drilling, fucking it all up. Now its a wasteland unable to stop/slow storms and storm surge like it used to.

Ida was so bad that is flooding NJ I dont remember that being a thing.

A storm hitting LA and flooding the NE after it got flooded last week.

The penitent and science agree, the end is nigh.
