On live in the velious era clear through until well past DoDH the key difference between a stellar warrior and an average warrior wasn’t 100-300hp, it was aggro. Warriors who had it in spades thrived and were actively sought out for groups/raids. It got a lot easier over time with weapon affinity AAs and augments. I mained a warrior in this era.
We won’t have those things. On P99 we’re stuck with simply your dexterity and your choice of weapon use. Part of my dwarf choice was smaller size and fashion but the biggest was high comparative starting dex while still having decent stamina. Yes you can stack dex and focus. You can beg for a boon to boost further but being able to just ask for stam/focus/aego/haste/DS (that’s it) and be fully tank buffed is worth its weight in gold. If I’d gone full stamina geared as is I’d have about 150 more hp - 2.7% more total when I already have enough to more than easily function. With 2 gear upgrades that extra stamina starting would mean nothing. Balancing dexterity on gear is a lot harder than stamina. Focus/stamina has me at 255/229/255

Went all dex with my iksar warrior and fully recommend it. I know at least two other warriors who did the same.

With defensive you can consider that 5k buffed hp is enough to consistently tank pretty much all content. More always makes it more comfortable/safe. 5k as a 60 raiding warrior isn’t very hard to achieve with some entry level gear. I’m sitting at 5600 but I also have a few pieces that are absolutely shit. Physically surviving mobs is not hard.
The only down side to having high dex is that I have to be really careful assisting when not tanking. I can’t use any of my aggro weapons or I WILL end up at the top. It’s not a matter of IF ... it’s a matter of WHEN even if the tank is using WS/Trident/Epic. Even assisting with low aggro weapons, I have to be careful if it has a proc it can be a problem if a lower dex tank is at the plate. After the spell/aggro nerf those mallets etc are anything but an aggro lock. It gives a strong initial boost but on a 3-5 minute or longer proc a warrior not properly geared (weapons) and/or with low dex is at risk of losing aggro even after a 5 mallet-charge dump. For the non-raid environment dex importance goes up. Fights are shorter and you’re less likely to have or beg the buffs to get to 255. The extra stamina in small raids and groups is less of an issue. Unless your gear is crap or you’re under leveled, having enough hp to make using complete heal viable/efficient is more or less a given. More important is having the kind of strong threat such that the healer isn’t having to constantly top off the not-tanks. Protip: I bind my disarm key to kick so I have it firing often. I don’t know how much aggro it generates specifically but it is noticeable. More than a few times I have peeled aggro off the raid MT using a gimpy 30/35 2hander if I spam kick/disarm. If I don’t spam, I’m always safe. Bind disarm to slam/kick. It helps when you’re at the tanking plate, whether group or raid.
