Default Research skillups

Is there an Enchanter Guildmaster that can train research skillups beyond 90?

--asking for a friend.

Thanks!

(He checked out FP and Erudin so far) -- no luck.

Unless it’s different for an enchanter you can train to like 170 skill at level 49. I expect your friend is just capped per level. Might wanna hold those pages until you have a couple spare levels for the combine attempt.

Hey there, friend in question who is looking to train Research past 90. All the research trainers that I've visited keep saying something to the effect of "You know more than I do, what could I possibly teach you?"

I am level 33. Does research have a different cap than the 5*level cap of other skills?

Is there a particular trainer that is best to learn from? I've been to Felwithe, Freeport, Qeynos and Erudin and tried all the trainers I could find and 90 is the highest they'll go. Thanks for the help!

I skilled up 175 at lvl 50 by spending plat on the aviak trainer near the academy of arcane science in Freeport.

You are limited by level. Have you read the wiki ?
"Research is a level restricted skill. As such, your max skill is: (Level - 15) x 5."

While I did read the Wiki, it looks like I must have skimmed past the line that specifies that its (level-15)*5 and not simply level*5. My current cap of 90 makes perfect sense in that case. I think the biggest source of confusion for me was the NPC dialogue that suggests that it's their limitation and not mine.

Thanks again for the help!
