Yeah, it's political now. Ten years ago both parties aimed at bettering America but I suppose that's a racist, right-wing thing now.

Caring about American citizens is racist.

Identity politics is a tendency for people of a particular religion, race, social background, etc., to form exclusive political alliances, moving away from traditional broad-based party politics.

Having a focus on Americans isn't the same as having a focus on a smaller specific identity, so it's not identity politics.

I identify as the rightwing of the leftwing, but sometimes feel more like the leftwing of the rightwing.

also, racism is garbage like many popular ideas. culture is really just the collection of ideas embraced by a group of people and the behavior they manifest as a result. for example, you have different cultures between competing business firms and within the firms thenselves. the only real link between race and culture is one of historical happenstance.
