If you're not in a major rush to level you're druid another option would be to wait for velious. Velious has a buttload of animals for you to charm and you'd get the full racial exp bonus for being a halfling. My druid wasnt my main on live and levelled mostly in velious. You can work all the velious quest pieces with a charmed pet.

Cool, thanks for the info. I never played velious content so that's good to know. I do want to level my druid now, though. From what I've heard, kedge and permafrost are incredible EXP anyway, so there's not a need to wait. I guess I just need to get the hang of kedge (or get a couple more levels elsewhere and try kedge again).

Live monkeys, tigers, raptors, worms - there's tons to charm in EJ

Even if you don't want to quad, the spirocs are only good for a few levels and he ease and speed of exp is hard to pass up - faster than charming. But you can stay in EJ for another level or two past 49 then head to Kedge I suppose. Those will be the only options for charming until you can hit the bear pits.

Would probably be better if I had that charm plants spell

Hmm, not so useful then. I'm surprised there's no upgrade.
