Ya one of the easiest things we can change is the rules in congress. Its relatively recent that all bills are allowed to be Yes / No with no possibility for ammendments. What this means is that the minority party is no longer participating in the lawmaking process at all so each side tries to make a bill just disgusting enough that the other party can't bring themself to sign it, and then point to the postive aspects of the bill and say "OH REALLY, your guy didn't want to fund CARE FOR THE NEEDY?! what a surprise!" but in reality it was a whole package bill of heinous shit plus care for the needy (which is what all bills are today).

There are some pretty simple legislation rule fixes that can help a lot with actually getting things done but it would take the prevailing party to have the guts to actually weaken their position somewhat (by allowing the other party a say) in order to better everyone.

I love it when lefty politicians call for unity and then refer to me as a white supremacist racist in their next breath

“But Republicans call us names too”. Yeah, sometimes we do. But the difference is that I don’t call for unity. You want unity with a racist? Then what would that make you

Are you upset calls for unity are met with disdain from right wingers or that we don't become right wingers to achieve that unity?

Did you care much for unity and including the other side when 45 was in power or was it more of a we won shut the fuck up dems haha?

Can we start by asking what exactly is that unity we so want?

Why do we have to do the same thing? We can work together by doing different things in different states and learning from each other, e.g. California can have masks, vaccines, and socialism while Texas does something different, and people who want X and not Y can move to a different state if they feel particularly strongly about it. That was the whole idea of the United States.

This kind of simplistic identity politics is precisely the problem. Everyone voted for slightly different reasons. In any case, why don't you go worry about Trudeau or something? American politics barely affect you.

How can you have unity with people whos over arching cry is that "government does not work" then they get elected. They use this power to destroy the government, proving their point that government does not work. Look what they did in Kansas. Destroyed the government, now its fucked. FL unemployment, its fucked. VA services, fucked. Government housing, fucked. FDA, EPA, on and on. All fucked because one party does everything in its power to destroy it and the other one tries to keep it going. How can that work??

How can you work with people who are only there to fuck it up, point to it and say "look how fucked up it is!" and "nothing gets done!" when if they worked together shit would get done, and the government would function. This would remove the legs of their entire party. Tell me thats not the republican platform. Reduce government, less taxes, less regulation, no spending, etc.

We know that isnt true, but thats what they run on. How do you work with people who are there to burn it down?? What incentive do they have to work with anyone whos not burning it down? None.

What identity politics?
You think what fits one neighbourhood fits all neighbourhood?

Also, can you American stop thinking the rest of the world does not care about your politics? We know for a fact the NSA is spying on virtually everyone on earth, you got the machines of death pew pew to kill most of the world six times over and you are the leading economy, what are we supposed to do, root for China?

We, the rest of the fucking world, bare our teeth when you have wannabe fascist in government because our own government watches.

You think it is a fucking coincidence Myanmarr had a coup d'etat about voter fraud weeks after 45th's big lie?

When your politicians show you do not have to follow reality to be elected because you can gerrymander your way into your voter base, ours watch and learn.

Your politics is of fucking national interest of every god damn fucking country on earth and it requires very little knowledge about how the world work to ask foreigners to not care.
We cannot vote, but we can give our opinion.
Welcome to democracy, I can see you are not a fan.

It's funny because the analogy is a Roman citizen telling a Gaul citizen not to worry about Roman politics since it doesn't affect him, he is not Roman.

Fun fact, Ceasar was in fact, in Gaul, later during his years as consul.
So it did affect the Gaulic citizen, in the end.

And the analogy is good because we care about our future but if you want to crush it, you can.
So it is of vital imprtance we care about it even more.
