Try using WinRAR, downloadable at http://rarlab.com/download.htm OR you can use Windows's own compression utility if you have Windows 7 (maybe Vista as well)

Ok. thanks. Im trying to figure out why i can't load the velious UI ingame, and i think it may be because the file is zipped. Does that sound like it could be the reason why? It doesnt give me an error message, but it doesnt change the UI at all. And with the new spell file, I need to change the UI to get my spell icons working correctly

First thing make sure Everquest isn't running, check the task manager (ctrl+alt+delete) to make sure eqgame.exe isn't running.

Next question would be are you logged into an admin account for windows xp?

I think im logged into an admin account. Usually when it is something i need admin permission to do i just have to click continue.

I am trying to get the spell icons to work correctly. And i am not sure if i even need to extract the files into that folder. I thought i had them in the wrong place for a second (the ui changes were in the everquest folder instead of the uifiles folder), so i moved the uichanges file. The spell icons changed, but most of them are still incorrect, so I am trying to figure out if i need to move something else around.

Everything you need should be in here
http://www.project1999.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2651

If your trying to install the uichangesv2.zip files they go into sony/everquest/uifiles/default

If you want to use the velious UI then you need to do the above then go to the uifiles folder and make a called velious and extract veliousuiv3.zip into that folder.

eqchangesv4.zip just gets extracted straight into sony/everquest

I don't know why you would need to use the velious UI to get them working.

Edit: If your still having problems look at http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...ad.php?t=29437 and see if that helps any.

Instead of messing around with moving files/dragging/unraring/unzipping etc etc.. just use the All in One Installer, it will set up the game for you to use with P99.

Its just an automated process to set everything up. Look in my signature for the link.
