There is no point behind making this change unless gms will no longer restore corpses. Will just add more work for the gms.
Also, and more importantly, I recall a post by a gm who said that if he were to take an extended break he would create a corpse with all of his gear, let it expire, and then ask for a corpse summon whenever he returned. Without significant advanced notice of a change to said policy, people who relied on that post could stand to unfairly lose their gear | ||

Due to the huge unpopularity of this change.......
I will work on this next.

What this will do is two things:
1. Stop corpsing Sky keys for many. GMs don't really summon for sky corpses anyways. 2. Stop corpsing lore items. Again GMs don't really summon for lore items and now it will be way more tedious even with summoning. Very few people take 24 gameplay hours to recover their corpse. The only time I can see this impacting anyone negatively would be people who rage quit and play another alt on that account for a few days before going back for their other character's corpse. Even then... No. I bet almost no corpses that they currently summon right now would have rotted prematurely due to this change. The ones they summon are rage quitters who leave for weeks, people who didn't realize they had died and went away for awhile or bugged corpses.
