Do people who drive on the wrong side of the road (e.g. UK) move left to get deeper into 3rd gate or do they go right?

American here, literally didn't even realize a left lane existed, I go right on my way in and I use that same path to go left when I leave, never even looked the other direction.

Going right is slightly quicker, so I always go right.
