Default GM event ideas

So tonight's capture the flag in Plane of Time had me thinking.

With the surplus of old zones accessible by the GMs, there's a lot of potential to implement content through more cool GM events.

For instance... a group / guild is summoned to Plane of Fire and must have council with Solusek Ro...

A secret transporter in Qeynos Catacombs built by the bloodsabers leads an adventurer into Ruins of Lxanvom,

etc.

Things like this would provide a depth old live didn't have, and it would also keep things exciting for players... because in the far future, after Velious is out for a long while, players will be going a bit stir crazy. GM events in old post-classic zones with unique content would be one way to keep interesting new stuff going on.

Just my thoughts,

why not base some events with the gods around their actual lore?

I'd just be happy with orcs attacking freeport or whatnot and us defending it!

Simple and with a little scripting could be tons of fun for lower levels. These events don't need to be complicated and over the top, I mean ctf in time sounds fun but orcs invading freeport now that sounds like classic to me!

How about events that fix broken quest and spawns? I'm sure everyone would enjoy that [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I'd second Mayong events! One of the primary reasons i started playing here was to get to fight the bastard cause i missed him in original EQ (and Mistmoore my all time fave zone).

So come on, pretty PLEAAAASE give me another chance to see/help him die? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

More scripted invasion events would be great.
