Connection issue, constant / random drops
Hello,
I am having issues staying connected to the EQEmu server. This just started happening about a month ago. It has progressively gotten worse. My connection drops from EQ ONLY and there is no interruption in internet service at all. My connection drops on LAN (Ether) and both bands of WIFI 2.4 and 5.0. I have a Comcast Xfinity 100MBS connection. I called Comcast, they say nothing in wrong on their end. They sent a tech out who replaced all the internet wiring and connectors from where the wire meets my home all the way to the Modem/Router. They replaced my Modem/Router. I took my computer to 2 different hotels and ran on a 2.4 WIFI connection and did not experience any drops at all, for a week. I have replaced cat 5 cables, connected direct to the modem, to the switch, and I have replaced the switch. My system: Asus G751JT Gaming Laptop 16GB Ram 1TB SSD WD 1TD 7200 RPS HD Nvidia 970M Graphics Card Windows 10 Realtec network card All firmware, windows updates and drivers are up to date. I am running in both administrator and compatibility mode. Doesn't matter though, it happens with or without these checked. When I ping from Command prompt 144.121.19.169 I get timeout. So when i loaded the WD dashboard for my SSD it showed the Firmware needed updating. I did that, ran the scan in CMD and the corruptions were fixed. I uninstalled and reinstalled, same thing. Had someone send me all the spell files except spelua.png (which appears to be the Jboot animation), same thing. I just logged in and hit my jboots and no drop, animation is fine. I have turned off spell effects at the recommendation of a couple other people to see if I keep getting dropped.
The files that are corrupted were installed in the brand new install. The scan is not showing any integrity issues, yet the DBG.txt file still shows an issue. I even went back and re-overwrote the files again, started EQ, dropped and ran the scan, no file integrity issues. Yet the connection to the server is still closing and dropping me. The hard drive is a WD Blue SSD 1TB that is only months old, if it is going bad, I see nothing showing such. if it is, it is under warranty and I can get it replaced. I have no other issues with any other program, and EQ is being run in admin mode. If it continues after spell effects off, I will report my DBG.txt file again. Found the issue. As soon as I moved Duxi UI out of the Everquest directory no more drops. If I try to put any part of Duxi UI into my Everquest directory, I get dropped within 10 minutes of logging in.
Files were/are not corrupt, no issue with the 3 month old WD hard drive. I did do a fresh install from a friend's disk set. Thank you for your time and assistance! | ||
