Default PnP Clarification?

Serious question...

According to the policy:

"That being said, you can absolutely "camp" mobs, and you cannot steal another players 'camp'. In general, if the placeholder or placeholders for a spawn are being killed, that 'camp' can be considered held by the player doing the killing so long as they are keeping the placeholders (or the room if there are no placeholders) cleared, within the same zone, do not die or log off. You do not necessarily need to be at the spawn point to call it 'claimed' while it is uncontested, however, if someone else wishes to contest the 'camp' you do need to return to the 'camp' and maintain a presence at or very near the spawn(s) in order to hold it. You cannot hold multiple 'camps' if another group wishes to contest one that you are holding. The player holding multiple 'camps' retains the right to choose which 'camp' to give up. "

Are p99 staff supposed to follow these rules when arbitrating camps?

My understanding is that that policy is for players to try to follow and that if you don't come to an agreement between yourselves and you involve staff, then the staff can make any judgement they want. I'm pretty sure this is stated in the policy and that it specifically states the staff judgement may not be to the liking of either party so it's better that players just work out a compromise by themselves whenever possible.

They use their judgement based on the situation, just like players should do.

There are no hard rules for camps besides you holding a single spawn point by keeping the PH cleared and engaging it within a couple minutes at most.

Outdoor camps and multiple mobs are agreed on by the community but still arbitrary.

If someone tries to take your camp then record it and post it on the forums but I suggest doing it out of reason rather than frustration otherwise it will backfire. Especially if you have no proof. Then you'll just get mocked even if you were right.

Same with getting a GM involved. Only do it if its a serious camp and don't petition in game, use the forums. Make sure you got proof and keep it short.

Why not use in the in-game petition? Are they not answered?

Ingame petitions work great on camp disputes if a guide is around.

Because by the time they get there one of you will most likely be gone. And they'll tell you to petition on the forums.

It’s simple, whoever has OBS wins, it’s like bringing a gun to a fistfight. If both parties have OBS then things get interesting. Rule of thumb just leave a 9minute replay buffer running in background as soon as you get past login. This will take little to no storage space and you can easily save from temporary to permanent with a set hot key, 9 minutes doesn’t have to be sized down and is a quick easy length to look through to highlight key times for a GM to review. If you can’t be bothered to take 3 seconds to turn OBS on before you start playing, you are putting yourself at a huge disadvantage and going to allow people to walk all over you.
