Did every help topic I could find
Deleted all the files previously mentioned:
nektulos.eqg nektulos_EnvironmentEmitters.txt nektulos.mp3 nektulos.zon lavastorm.eqg lavastorm.emt lavastorm_EnvironmentEmitters.txt lavastorm.mp3 arena.eqg arena_EnvironmentEmitters.txt arena.zon Also made sure the icon shortcut was set up correctly, as well as the host INI file. Also turned off all particles, complexities, shaders, etc. Made the graphics as simple as possible in the options. Yet still when I log into nek forest I begin to lag out after a few moments. Thankfully I had enough time to gate back to the Mines of Gloomingdeep, then get back to the NF zoneline from Neriak Commons. So I'm not stuck, exactly - but I can't do much if I want to go past lvl 12 hahaha Any thoughts?

Mines of Gloomingdeep? You're not playing on a project1999 server. You'll want to follow whatever instructions apply to the server you're playing on.

I don't even see that in the eqemu server list:
http://www.eqemulator.org/index.php?pageid=serverlist Regardless, this is the Project1999 forum and it only applies to the 3 Project1999 servers (blue/red/green). You'll want to visit whatever site/forum pertains to the server you're playing on and follow their instructions around what version of the client to use and any custom patching required. -Mcoy

All the regular EQ EMU servers (not p99) should NOt have the p99 spell file, and any of the zones mentioned here deleted. Don't follow any p99 guide at all for those servers.
