Default Rogue DPS

When do rogues start out dpsing other classes? So many 2 hander classes around lvl 30 are hitting almost as hard as my backstabs. What gives?

Hitting hard and out dpsing are two entirely different states of being. A paladin may hit hard, but it's the rogue's hits that count. Backstabs aren't everything. You're similar dps to much better geared players with a tiny investment now. Your only competition is other rogues once you have your epic. Don't worry about it and just level. You have a good setup.

As a final thought, keep in mind that 2-handers generally outperform dual wield before 50. Level 30 is a huge break point for those weapons because the damage cap gets removed and they can finally hit for full potential. Kind of like when rogues get minimum backstab multipliers at 51, 55, and 60. Double backstab at 55 too. You're just observing a big level for lesser classes. Yours is coming.

Is there any better weapon for a reasonable price I could use before I get my epic?

You'll definitely get there. Consider swapping the jade mace out for something like a Crystalline Short Sword if you see one in EC if you're not STR capped - can't believe how much they've slid in price but Velious etc.

If you're interested, I have a crystalline short sword I'd be willing to trade with a couple other items of your liking for the jade mace. Arakoth or Aabdel in game

CSS should perform the exact same as a jade mace due them sharing a .5 ratio, but I never liked using that mace as an offhand. Your DW odds aren't stellar so the extra power from 12 dmg CSS hit will be more fun to use when it does work. Bigger numbers are more fun. Probably first and last time I'll advocate offhand damage over ratio on blue.

Only real bonus to css aside from fashionquest is the additional strength (and cha/agi/int if you care about them). I would love the mace for my monky though, since my rogue is kinda retired

Before you jump too hard onto the css train and ditching the jade mace keep in mind two things:

1) not everyone loves the css graphic (I think it's awful, myself)

2) you might want to keep your 1hb skill up to par

Not huge reasons to not make the switch, but I still thought I'd throw them into the mix.

If you're worried about DPS in general, you also might consider getting a piercer that is 12 dmg and lower delay. You'll have a smaller max backstab, but your regular melee output will increase significantly.

Something like one of the "cheaper" Velium spears.

I don't know that I'd say it's worth worrying about, but if you're dead set on outputting more dps right now, that might be a possible solution to consider.
