It's a ways out of era but I found this from 2003 re proc rate:

Quote:
Epic has 4300hp, does 70DPS melee, 20DPS from procs - procs that
don't land on 60+ mobs (the standard for PoP tier2+ xp groups).

https://groups.google.com/g/alt.game...m/4oUnTPbxlJMJ
Someone else can do the math on what the proc rates would be to add up to 20dps.

Would be 8.4 procs a minute (assuming full damage) to equal 20 dps.

The observed rates on the logs posted however only shows a a proc rate of approximately 5.8 per minute. That's pretty big gap from the expected versus the observed even with a relatively small sample size.

only 1 proc in this huge chunk of combat. I think you are going to need more compelling evidence the proc is incorrect, certainly ore than what is provided in these combat logs.
That's not a large chunk of logs. It spans less than 1 minute.

The logs that were used to justify a reduction in the damage cap showed 18 procs in 3 minutes against a mob that ate the pet. I just parsed a fight against a Ratfink in PoM and my pet proc'd ONCE in a 2-minute fight.

40 seconds is huge compared to 6 seconds.

What are you saying?

I just parsed 3 fights all lasting in a range of 2-3 minutes. The MOST my pet has proc'd has been 5 times and that fight was 3 minutes and 10 seconds. 1 Ratfink, 1 Teriling, and 1 Sentry at the entrance to SS.

Clearly the proc rates are off between what we experience on P99 and what that guy was seeing on Live.

My post you responded to was talking about the poster who only showed 6 seconds of the combat logs. And, ya, it sounds like there is a significantly lower proc rate on p99. That said, I seem to recall some other people mentioning something about change that was done that dramatically lowered the proc rate on all pets. So it might not be as simple as just the epic proc rate being off?

I reviewed the proc rates in the combat logs in this thread and others that I had. Using the most conservative estimate I increased the current proc rate.
