spell file STILL outdated

After todays patch i downloaded new spell file and extracted them to my eq folder, like i always do, and it is still saying my spell files are outdated when i get to the character screen. I have manually deleted the files and extracted them, rebooted, uninstalled and re-installed, still nothing is working. Can someone please help me. Downloaded new spell files on my laptop and extracted them and everything worked just fine. On my desktop it wont work.

don't extract the files. copy and paste them into the folder.

i cant figure out how to play since patch either, my winrar is now past 40 days and used to do everything for me,, looks like people who are bad with computers just got screwd out of this emu

Is your EQ folder installed to Program Files?

Go into User Accounts, turn User Account Control (UAC) off and try again. Should require reboot.

Try using 7-zip instead.

I know this might seem a lil bit of a silly question to ask, but did you put the correct patch in?

My husband and myself just recently got the game installed outselves and when he went to put the patch in, he still had V20 zip on his desktop, and kept trying to install it instead of the V21 he had just downloaded. He noticed what he had done and corrected it.

Just a little mishap that happened here, perhaps something as small as that has happened.

You can always use EQemu to auto update the game for you (its part of the installer in my signature).

Yes, I agree, 7Zip is more useful for extracting files than winrar and also it's free...
