Game isn't only about level 60.
So yeah, level 60 guys generally held hands. The PK guilds were weaker rabble guys. The PVP 1-59 was tops. It was basically a red server, as they go.

I remember reading TZTimes saying Rallos had a blacklist for people who pkd other players unprovoked

Ya those players were called PK's, a bad thing.
Sort of self regulated version of UO's PK system. It actually meant something to be branded as a PK. People wouldn't group with you, ETC. It mattered more, since there was item loot. People that agreed to the social norm of not murdering eachother would group together, and exclude scum who would backstab their own EXP group to loot a piece of armor or whatever. It was great. Now it seems like the only people who play are PK's which is either goonsquad and WOW mentality creeping over, or that only the people who really liked to PVP came to an emulated version of it and everyone else stayed on non PVP live or whatever. I like seeing the totally skewed perspectives of people that only cared about playing the game at level 60 describing rallos as not having PVP. PVP ended at level 60 my pal, when most guys were decked in no drop there wasn't a lot of incentive to PVP at that stage.

On Vallon Zek where i played which was a "pvp server" i'd say only 5% of the actual population were real pvpers, the rest were bluebies that hand hold until there was drama over some loot and then pvp broke out between these top guilds. To me this is the perfect game, a game filled with only pvp oriented players pvp become dull and boring, bluebies bring emotion to the game and we all know there's nothing like a scorn'd bluebie, they make the best drama. The only way we would ever experience everquest like it was in 1999 on a pvp server is if they opened a blue server, then at the peak of its popularity they enable pvp so the 100 of us that enjoy pvp could become 5% of that servers population, then you would have a pvp server true to what pvp servers were back in 1999.

The irony is that we actually need these non-PVPing bluebie carebears to make a great PVP server! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] PVP servers where everyone you come across is just another random PK are unfortunately no fun at all.

Everyone went way too hard trying to be the most toxic griefer and it all got a little old. When red 2.0 comes around I really hope someone tries something different. Variety is the spice of life!

What if one of the top guilds RPed as the good guys, and worked hard to help out the lower level players? Ported people around for free? Made legitimate alliances with some of the smaller guilds, and helped to build them up.
