I'm assuming this kind of thing didn't happen on live, since bromance didn't exist in the 90s.

But here's a question. Did GMs perform same-sex marriages back in the day? I don't recall ever hearing about any, but I can't imagine a refusal wouldn't have made front page news on every mmo site.

Yep, and I did the very first one to ever take place in an MMO (french lesbian couple: Laurul CourdeLoup, I think, and I forgot the other one). There was a reason I did Bazek and Barthorn's as a dark elf.
