Oh I'm not trying to keep it a secret or cut people off from gaining access. It's not like that.

How long exactly was it possible to bind at firepots on live?

ps.Exard3k seems aggressive towards me today. He was schooled in another thread where he messed up the server time. So expect him to throw some flames my way or try to set me up for FQ fail.

That's how it was during live kunark release.

Well I dont know anyone from 2000 that actually did bind there because no one really knew that. So it's hardly a classic experience. And they fixed it rather quickly, because it was unbalanced on a large scale. If half the server population would have been bound there, Verant patch notes surely would look different.

I can only see negatives on allowing 3 days of binding there. Arguments see above.

Ok, there is an actual positive. People who manage to do it, get their special sudo pre-order/long term player exclusive and probably feel good about it. At the cost of everyone else. Purely for selfish reasons disguised as "it's classic".

I just want new players and new characters to have equal opportunities on green server. With TD binding, all new characters created in 4 days and after are 2nd class characters in terms of mobility.

It's a pretty trite argument to say "nobody knew about doing this in 2000 so it's not really classic" - obviously people did know about it and bound there or they wouldn't have nerfed it after the fact.

There's always going to be imbalance and interesting player advantage tidbits about P99 - it's why people play here. If they wanted balance and pixel socialism they'd go play on another sever. You call it 'purely selfish reasons' and that's EXACTLY what it is. This server isn't for "new" players; it's for people who already know what they're getting when they open the package. The constant nerfing and adjusting of things is why the game overall went to shit and it's what this server is trying to avoid.

That's like everything else in the game. People who played before you got a chance to get stuff you didn't because no longer drops/changed/etc.

But binding in TD is really not that big of a deal, either. it ill serve you well for staying back home in the classic base of the game, but it's pretty useless in kunark and beyond when compared to the utility of being able to bind wherever you are hunting.

Corpse runs are classic. Don't bind anywhere if you want a true classic experience.

Let me guess, you want a Mana Stone when you re-roll another caster too, don't you?

This same argument can be used to say there should never have been manastones, ring of the deads, rubicite, jboots from najena and guise of the deceivers.

Why would I? And why would I re-roll my character? No. Is this a thing now? They are tradeable, nothing about them is exclusive.

True. But that's not the topic today. Although you can trade each of them, so no exclusivity. And I prefer SoW potions and red dyed plate over jboots and rubicite anytime. I dont think the others are a big deal either. I like legacy items, they tell stories....
