Default Original Paw

Will the original paw zone be available? I have fond memories of it being a zone similar in level to blackburrow. I’m not sure I’ll even play the server, but I was curious if it will be as it was in 99.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think this project has ever reconstructed original Splitpaw, and I'm not sure if it's possible to do a decent job given the lack of information available. It was changed very early on, and not many people adventured into a low level dungeon in the middle of a 20+ zone far away from any cities.

Yeah, the old Paw is gone forever, never to come back on any server. There is no information available to be able to recreate it.

My memories of old Paw were that it took long to get to and there were no binds close and that the place was susceptible to trains because of fleeing mob pathing issues. People went there once to check it out and never again. After the revamp there was still no interest it because there was no compelling reason to go there except there are higher levels mobs there now.

Sad. It was always a trainfest I never ventured in very far, and i don't know what version of the dungeon that was. Probably infected version.

Back in the day I was all about going to this dungeon to kill giant snakes in peace.

What would it take to track down and interview original Everquest coders and pick their brains on these classic mysteries?

Ahh. I remember it being a low level dungeon for quite awhile. Getting to it sucked but as one person said you could fight giant snakes in peace.

Do I have to attach the Paw map again?

I guess so.

There are entire threads full of information about old Paw. There are zone guides and loot descriptions and everything you need to recreate it. I'm pretty sure they just haven't had time yet.
