You're right, it's not classic. It should be a lot worse: pets should steal xp even in groups.

How is this different than the old way for non-Dire Charmed pets?

In the old scheme, if a pet did more than half of the damage to a monster, it took half the experience reward.

In the new scheme, pets take zero experience unless no player does damage. If no player does any damage, then the pet takes 75% of the experience reward This means that it's much easier to make sure a pet doesn't take any experience from you or your group.

What? Did you even read that thing? If I do ANY damage to the monster, the pet gets no EXP. If I'm in a group, and the pet is the only one that does damage, then it gets 75% of the xp...

Do you understand that this is a classic server and we are meant to be using the "old scheme", not the one Rich Waters implemented in Luclin?

How do we know the old scheme meant the version we have at launch?

You tell me, you seem to know how things were at launch. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

So right now you don't even have to do 51% damage to get full xp? just 1+ damage?

Situation 1 - You are soloing and you have a summoned pet or a charmed pet (not including Dire Charm)- * If you do any damage to the monster at all, you get all of the experience. * If you don't do any damage to the monster, the pet gets 75% of the experience.

TLDR for the peoples

This is one of those things that will not be getting changed, it is this way for a reason, so mages dont just sit their pets on a spawn the pet can solo and then go afk or just sit there watching TV the whole time while not even touching their keyboard, FYI that tactic isnt a good ideal even if you invite another mage into group to take away the pet exp penalty cause afk lvling this way is frowned upon by staff on p99
