1.) Back-up all current .s3d files in your Everquest folder (sort file types by using details view in windows)
what does this mean?? i used the installer cuz i suck at this crap and i dont want to mess anything up... but i would love the better graphics

Is there any pack like this out there for Kunark zones? Or is that already implemented?

Using the link in the original post, I was able to download the RAR file in about 5 minutes while I was backing up my s3d files. So far I have not run into any problems since such a quick and easy upgrade.
Like so many others, I am also nostalgic about old classic EQ and I still like to get immersed in the game world just like the old days. Upgrading the zone textures has helped improve my "nostalgic immersion" considerably. It just looks better!. It doesn't look so drastically different that it's not the same old EQ, just better. Tried it, worked, was really happy with it... then it randomly went haywire. Basically, nothing in NQ newbie fighting area shows now except NPCs, PCs, MOBs, trees, flagpoles. Everything else went black.
Then I alt-tabbed to make this post, and when I got back it was all lavender.

Everything worked wonderfully. The new graphics were a wonderful change. I loved the original graphics. I nostalgia'd for a while. Played for a long while. Then I decided to upgrade my graphics slightly.
The world was a better place.
