Default I have no log files

If i do /log on in game it says its logging but when i look for the log in my eq file it is nowhere to be seen. In my Eqclient.ini there is no Log option. What happened here? Is it putting my logs somewhere weird or just not making them?

Is it Windows 8 you use by any chance?

If it is then they're saved in the virtual store. Make sure you turn off your hidden folders. - C - Users - [whichever profile you use] - app data - local - virtual store - p1999 folder - logs.

Screenshots are also saved here. I haven't the damndest clue how to make them just save in the regular EQ directory, I got fed up messing around xD

Is EQ installed in Program Files?

If so, thats the reason for 99% of problems people have.

Mines always ran fine there /shrug. I was too lazy to reinstall [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Also, if it is wondows 8 you're running...your full and populated ini file is also in virtual store.

You don't need to reinstall. You can just move the EQ folder out of Program Files.

But yeah, you don't have to if you don't want to.

I've started a wiki article to go over log troubleshooting and resources (feel free to contribute): http://wiki.project1999.com/Logfiles
