Default Bored so ran numbers 60 Druid vs 60 cleric heal

Assuming cleric only casts cheal with average land of 2500 vs Druid casting 60 heal (978). Both cost 356 mana to cast. Druid has potg and mask (+9 mana/tick) cleric does not. Druid has clicky group regen bp (2.5 hps to each person). Uptime fight healing:

No clarity:

Cleric averages 24.6 hps (heal per second)
Druid averages 16.2 hps plus 2.5 hps to whole group (28.7 hps potential)

C2:

Cleric averages 37.5 hps
Druid averages 21.3 hps plus 2.5 hps to each group mbr (33.8 hps potential)

Clerics are obviously better but Druid doesn’t fair that badly. Druid heal casts almost twice as fast allowing for fewer Med tick losses.

Why don’t we see more 60 druids healing groups other than no Rez?

Ps: Torpor Shamans beat them both over time in spades.

You group with healers who use mana? Cute.

Druid don't look too bad on your numbers but you cap CH at 2500, you can easily land some 3k+ CH even in a leveling group without extreme gear/buff on the tank.

But I guess you prove a point if your main tank is a monk with 3k hp buffed having a druid or a cleric as a healer won't make a huge difference.

It would be interesting to run the numbers without potg/mask for a sub 60 druid, to see how big the difference is.

Hosh heal stick, thurg heal legs, donal arms. You're not giving cleric gimmicks any credit.

Without potg and mask it’s quite a bit worse. With alteration spec and regen bp its:

12.1hps +2.5hps to all group members without c2.
16.7hps +2.5hps to all group members with c2

Without free clicky regen from BP subtract 2.5 from each member including the tank.

I settled on 2500 because that seems pretty average. I have no idea why but most clerics I’ve grouped with have been a bit hesitant to let the tank drop to lower levels. Seems like they tend to ignore the fact that a 4.4-5.5k hp tank (my pal/war) still has more hp in reserve at 20% life than a 3k monk/ranger/bard/etc has at 33% life. A 2.5k hp cheal is quite good and on the high end for non knights/warriors not wearing ToV gear. For real tanks or ToV geared melee it’s on the lower end but nevertheless pretty consistently average.

What really amuses me is when I group with a cleric who uses predominantly HoTs on my tanks. It’s half as efficient as a lazy 3k heal for either of my and closer to 3x less efficient than a well timed cheal on my warrior.

With an average total heal of 1350 (half 4 ticks half 5 lucky ticks) celestial elixir works out to 17.7hps without clarity and 26.9hps with c2. That’s not much higher than single target 60 Druid healing and below the heal potential of other group members aren’t always or almost always at 100% life.

Hosh stick yields over 40hps and allows the cleric to keep all mana for buffs and burst heals. gg

Oh yeah i know clerics are the kings of heals. Most won’t have hosh stick or velious legs. This was never to imply clerics were anything less than gods of healing— it’s just odd that you almost never see 60 druids picked up to main heal when they clearly are pretty capable.

It's much more likely for a cleric to have thurg legs than a druid to have velious bp. Plate house in kael is aptly named, they drop like candy. Clerics definitely get it good there.

Honestly, in high level groups: cleric for epic more than the heals. 96 Rez without eating into mana is rather yay.

As you've worked out healing is trivial with smooth XPing. Value added service of free Rez makes the cleric.
