Thing is, the competition is still there, we've just competed so long with each other its not a far stretch for us to work together. Also the "competition" that is now the raid scene is dismal at best, so we're adapting.
IB didn't need FE anymore, all the raid leadership in FE/IB was in IB, FE was toast with no "core" or didn't want to "compete" with TWO guilds, and had to align with TMO to get pixels (despite being specifically formed from BDA members who wanted to take TMO head-on and bring them to their knees.)

IB hedged against the TMO/FE zerg by grabbing the "core" from Lord Bob. Maybe pulled some solid players they liked out of FE.

What it really came down to is we ran out of ways to rustle BDA's jimmies. Thus, we had to be more creative and I'd say, so far, this has been a rather successful attempt.
