I fell asleep with my two kids at about 8pm and woke up to the sunrise around 5:30 without an alarm clock.

That's a good one. Woke up this morning at 3:20 naturally and got to sleep in until 4. But I woke up again at 3:50 and started getting ready. Had an extra 10 minutes of quiet luxury time this morning, which was nice. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Was walking to store this morning and noticed there's a bunch of bird babies swimming around in the local canals/streams. Decided to go back with the nice camera. Found some Great Crested Grebes, Eurasian Coots, Mallards, and Swans.

Bumping positive thread again. It's okay I don't mind talking to myself.

As the light at the end of the covid tunnel slowly comes in to focus, my travel bug is really itching! Finished up the final video from our trip to Croatia back in 2019. This time it's the towns!

Dubrovnik, Hvar, Split, Trogir, Salona, Klis, Brac, Zadar, Motovun, Pula, and Rovinj. Oh my!

https://vimeo.com/553255018

This completes my Croatia home movie trifecta. Towns linked above, national parks and scuba diving links below.

National Parks - https://vimeo.com/501162298
Scuba Diving - https://vimeo.com/357652347

Here's to hoping we can all travel again soon. I'm running out of old footage!

Hey buddy do you know about Spain? Wife and I are going to France and northern Spain in September to do the hike along the Santiago de compostela pilgrimage route. We’ll be in Spain for a bit after, any recommendations? I like architecture, history, hikes, and museums. My wife likes wine. Neither of us could give a mother fuck about night life or anything fancy

After the pilgrimage route were for sure going to Toledo, Seville, Granada, and cordoba, but I welcome anything else in Iberia, including Portugal! I appreciate the suggestions

I've only spent a long weekend in the Madrid area, so I can't offer much in Spain, but that pilgrimage route looks pretty sweet. I'll have to check that out at some point.

Madrid's got some cool stuff though like the Prado Museum. Go see some gangster paintings like Goya's Saturn Devouring His Son and the Triumph of Death. Those paintings are metal as fuck.

From Madrid i've done a few day trips. Segovia is well worth a visit. It has a really nice old Roman aqueduct, picturesque castle, cathedrals, and nice city walls.

Avila is another cool town for day trip. Has a really well preserved city wall from the Roman Era.

That's about all I got on Spain for now. Once travel opens up I have some work trips planned to Madrid, Barcelona, Seville, and even Lisbon I'm looking forward to, but for now all I can do is dream. Man what i'd do for some legit paella.
