Default The Beauty of the Corpse Run

Everquest is about the making the best of a bad situation.

I, for one, love corpse runs. It's a chance to travel the lands as a vagrant. I kill the few monsters I can with my spells. I gather their gold. I purchase rusty weapons from merchants along the way.

I make note of my damage with inferior weapons. I test spells I wouldn't normally rely upon. I take in the sky, the wilderness.

My first goal is to buy a fishing rod. Food maters, every little bit, when you are alone in the trees. Maybe I'll come across someone selling water.

Any game is what you make of it. Many people spend their time naked and alone asking for a resurrection or a port. Nothing else matters to them but the end game. Not I.

The travel, the encounters, the danger... I'm grateful every time I have to go and find my body. It's all about mindset.

HAIL RED99!

Right on! And one appreciates one's Forage skill, if one has it. I find more food than drink using forage.

Corpse running on red is scary. Douchebags kill you running across a zone naked because "pvp".

Naked CRs take skill on Red. You are forced to learn to use hide/sneak, hide in terrain/trees, travel in back alleys and low ground, watch your back, watch /who, use levitate, call on friends for aid, anything you can think of. You keep a few key items in your bank for CRs. And the danger makes me feel all the more satisfied when I recover my corpse successfully, or do anything else risky. It's why I came to Red. It's not for everyone, but if it's for you...
