Hybrids, what happens?

As I understand it hybrids do not get less experience, they just need more per level. They take a larger share of the experience based on their level due to having more total experience at a given level.

So… If this is the case, when the penalty is removed sometime in after the release Velious what happens to the hybrid? Does there total experience now make them higher level than the moment before it was removed or does their experience get reduced to a total that would keep them at their current level?

My old brain seems to recall the shouts of merriment back on live when it was removed and bards, rangers, palys and SKs dinged and dinged again in an instant, but memory could be playing tricks on me.
