Do people actually read that shit. Intelligent... conversation is ruining my enjoyment of such a train wreck of an election. Republican debates were basically RnF, which omg it's great.

well... not really. I don't even pretend to be a republican and often say I am in fact not. But yes, lots of slinging at republican candidates, fur sure. Reps have little cards their party sends to them, I've never had one. They send them a card, send them requests for donations, but ignore their pleas to do something they ran on. They are never really in the circle, but always on the outside looking in, as much as I am in another party and have always been there. The estaaablishment is what's established, maybe soon to be replaced by a new establishment, established by those card carrying people on the outside tired of just looking in. Then they might just get even more votes by the rest of us, and from among those of us that do vote them in at times, when they deserve the votes.

I don't know how old you are, man. I'm a west coast gen-x'er, been thru it and back. I've gotten to see some things that certainly shaped my thinking. From world events to the world around me. And oddly so, my parents were WWII gens, they could never fully understand me, but at least they weren't baby boomers [You must be logged in to view images. I never met Carter though, and really wouldn't want to hah... but when I was young I somehow liked him, Carter. Wasted youth I guess, just way life goes. But I liked Reagan, and he got elected. I was still skeptical, but I became educated about his policies, more informed about politics, especially with all the debating about him at school. I wound up giving into the dark side after a time [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] at a young age I guess, as most peeps are dems/libs when young and reps/conservs when they get older they say. I guess I grew up fast. But not like dems/libs today, we all did things like laugh about global warming together and junk, and we even had things like school prayer in public schools. Less groupthink and more individualism, still. Ok here is what I'm getting at: Compare Donald and Ted to Reagan and Carter. Which are most alike? Politics aside mostly (Ted and Donald are fairly alike when it comes to issues anyway). Carter was a devout born again Christian. Sunday school teacher. And certainly an idealist. He had one wife, never a bad thing said of it. The guy crossed all the t's and doted all the i's. Reagan... lol? Divorced. His wife.. oh all the oddball stuff surrounding her, like contacting the dead, astrology etc. Reagan wasn't a strong Christian, though he seemed to be maturing in many ways. In California, he signed one of the most progressive abortion bills. The guy was a mess. But one thing he did do, he got things done. When he said he was going to do something, he did it better than he said he would - though not always cleanly, his administration was an utter mess on the record. But, imo among the best presidents the US has had. Anyway, the answer is obvious. With people so fired up about Cruz today, which would they have voted for if it were Reagan and Carter fighting for the rep nomination today? Overwhelmingly, people more like Carter as described above voted for Reagan back then. But for some reason, something has changed, idk what it is. Yes the Constitution is being mangled, for sure, I don't like it. But too, it was being mangled by Bush. He also claimed to be a Christian and in a big way he ran on a pro-life stance (which he hardly touched when all was said and done). But touching back on the 1980 elections, do you think that today's mindset, if it were back then as it is today (and it certainly wasn't), we would have ever seen Reagan become president? How different do you suppose the world would be today? Would we have 'deserved' that back then (1Sam 18 as you mentioned), if Reagan had not been elected? Would that have been the wrong choice, and we thus not be answered? Or is it somehow, that stumbling messed up guy, Ronald Reagan, was actually the answer? https://youtu.be/qXBswFfh6AY Only if our stupid New Yorker could talk like that, eh? [You must be logged in to view images. Libs would be throwing their burning bodies on stage against Donald. Funny how things change but still stay the same, just like in that vid link.

But now we gotta have nuts like Beck playing the religious card and in total showmanship (I mean bad acting actually), trying to fulfill his mormon prophecies for a looong time now (long time as he mentioned). But all that guy is is a divider, certainly would have took huge shots at Reagan. I know he speaks highly of Reagan, but just an act, using a brand name as many do. Reagen would have been waaay too flawed for that guy, but a great talking point for supplanting the masses to become your audience. Blind or not, I can discern. Hey looks, he's down on his knees on drudge report pic again this morning, anointing Ted as their mormon messiah. I do know some of the problem though, and sadly being the internet. Shouldn't be policed though, but I think it has really screwed with the younger generation, millennials and such. Information overload, and then uncontrollable rantings and ravings. In aaancient times, you had to back up everything you said, even if with fists. Nooow....... wellll.. didn't change me though, I got in fist fights (and using other things heh) and I pretty much talk normally on the internet rather than full retard loss of all civility at the drop of a hat. But I did get into fistfights because I wasn't afraid to say shit when shit needed to be said. But I guess that's what's expected now, eh? The groupthink thing, and from the safety of your home so you can do or say anything pretty safely, all minus the consequences. It builds though, soon enough you may be flinging your body at this or that politician etc. like sanders minions against Donald. Like I'm sure worse onto Reagan if he were running today, and he was fucking shot [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
