Also nobody is saying people aren't constitutionally allowed to *peacefully* protest. The "peacefully" part is kind of important, that's literally what the first amendment says, "peaceably assemble". It does not say "smash up some small black-owned businesses in a poor neighborhood and light shit on fire seemingly at random".

You seem to have an extremely hard time just unequivocally condemning the rioting. I support the people protesting peacefully (even though I think they're highly misguided, they every right to do it), I don't support the rioters. They are making every single problem they claim to be fighting against *worse*.

My point is that these protests are about human rights and human lives. And the first thing that invariably comes out of the mouths of stupid people are either 1) oh noes, the graffiti and broken glass or 2) some false equating and signifying any violent incident at the protests -- well, except for the cops violating the constitutional rights of citizens.

We've covered the *peaceful* angle. If you went to an NFL game and a couple of drunks got into a fight would you want to shut down the NFL? Or talk about how live sporting events would be okay if it weren't for all of the rampant violence? I'm sure you've been to some sort of sporting event before. Ever look at the floor on the way out? Do you shake your fist in the air about the litter the whole car ride home?

It's ok. There's no reason to go on. You approve of violence. We get it. Broken eggs and omelettes and all that. You don't need to create any more strawmen who spin a single incident of mild violence at a very peaceful protest into a raging holocaust and you don't need to make false equivalences between drunk guys in some bar or a game and an Antifa testudo.

The theme is from my current Siege of Jerusalem game. Legio X 'Equestris' under Lepidus and Legio XII 'Fulminata' under Cestius have arrived and begin the standard North Wall assault without any delay with Titus and the other two legions busy offscreen doing similar work.

The Judeans receive a free Missile Phase to simulate firing at the advancing Romans before the Romans can respond, and then we move to the actual assault. The objectives of this Assault Phase will be to break into and control the New City sector, and take as few casualties as possible while enveloping the defending Judeans in a pincer movement.

The Rams will move against the weak walls in the center while Towers with riding Syrian Archers will be placed on the flanks, mainly to provide a +1 'firing through tower' modifier at the Judean missile fire against the Heavy Inf pushing the rams. Those must be kept fresh and crewed at all times. The Testudos, each containing Velitae, will approach the walls to soak off some Judean fire and to keep the bastion defenders distrupted with missile fire supported by a ballista, an onager, and four catapults.

Hopefuly I can get some breaches going in a few turns and then I can send in some full cohorts in with Titus that I'm keeping cohesive for the final push. The large amount of clear hexes in the New City should make Titus into a rampage machine. If I get lucky I'll be able to get some Rams against the next set of walls so I can get a breach going prior to the next Assault Phase.

If there's one thing I learned about fighting the Jews is that you don't go in with your Towers and Escalades and try to assault their walls after minimal missile preparation. Sure you'll take a portion of the wall but the counter-attack will wipe you right the fuck out because Zealots don't play. Then you're down a cohort, lost a turn, and back to where you started. What you do is move in the Rams, protect their crews, and just stand back and shoot missiles. Wait. It sucks to do nothing when your men are dying yes. It sucks to see fresh Judeans rotate right in after you disrupt some. But after a couple of turns you have a multi-hex breach. Then you send in everyone at once, full fresh Heavy Inf cohorts through, remaining up on the walls and missile troops right behind. Once you're in you can reposition some Rams to start knocking down any isolated Forts.

Me and all the other 50 year old depressed overweight divorced dads with 250k miles on their civics agree this is one fine way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
