I can assure you that a medically performed abortion is much safer than the ol' hanger method.

The problem with this concern on the left is that it makes no sense to assume every single woman who would have gotten an abortion had it been legal in her state, will now definitely get an illegal one instead. There's no way that's true; there will inevitably be some set of women who would have gotten an abortion, but now won't because they can't access it, and may very well deliver the baby and then have a change of heart and be relieved that she didn't kill it in the first place. Or even if she puts it up for adoption, there will still be some number of babies born who would not have been otherwise, so it's objectively a net win for pro-life.
