Sorry let me find my rigorous scientific paper on people wanting to keep their jobs.
You did that for our discussion on gun violence. Now it’s silly to show me where you came up with this belief?

I didn’t ask for an article or data about people wanting to keep their jobs, I asked for data proving that people who are anti-racist are actually in fact racist by a large margin.

I mean you’re making some pretty wild claims. I’m giving you the benefit of the doubt that this could be backed up with data. So far it just seems you’re saying because I’ve never seen it or witnessed it, it doesn’t exist at all. And because I’m against racism that I’m actually racist? Very strange hill to die on.
I think he means that if I could wave a magic wand, and racism suddenly vanished from the country, the entire democrat political position would have to shift

Would that shift help or hurt the party? The country would be better, but now there wouldn't be this existential provocative threat to campaign against

Sort if like if I could wave a magic wand, and there was no more "culture war", how would the GOP position have to shift in response

So "curing" the problem almost becomes sort of a conflict of interest. And so the problem is both allowed to persist and also has its size exaggerated

Maybe but I didn’t take it that way lol. It sure reads like a much broader statement. Either way it’s both cynical and unprovable.

Having said that I do wish the culture war bullshit would go away for good. I dislike it greatly from both sides, and both sides are equally ridiculous.

Ya, I dunno, maybe I took it in a different way

An analogy that comes to mind is that it's a bad idea to build a community around a negative thing. Such as an eating disorder, depression, etc community. Because now you create a conflict of interest. Someone wants to get better but now also doesn't, because by getting better they lose the connection to the community. And if everyone got better, the community would cease to exist. And people want to belong

This is sort of why dems need racism like the GOP needs the culture war, IMO

Yeah well we as a people don’t need money in politics. I think that’s one of our biggest problems. Politicians should wear suits like nascar drivers.

I mean I do agree that racism exists in that it's cool to shit on white people and also black conservatives. It's just when you try to drill down to specific details, nobody can offer them. You're expected to just accept in perpetuity that racism is everywhere, despite living in the least racist and most abundant and comfortable country in all of human history. The modern lib mind can't let it go, because again it's their entire political identity and cause, and thus their meal ticket. What the hell is joy reed gonna talk about if racism went away, which it already mostly has?

Put that on a t-shirt with Candace Owen's face and you're in business.

Eh I guess we just disagree although I understand your point about racism as a platform.

I think the reason it’s a platform is because it is very real to some people. So they feel marginalized or affected by what they see as racist policy or social interactions.
