Bristlebane paladins really are a missed opportunity. Could do fun gear and stuff.

I DID play a bit more on RZ on a rogue someone gave a shaded dagger, just doing the sneak+hide and gank noobs game around lvl 10-12. I put a lot of hours on that character never intending to level at all [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] pvp was so fun. (Although yes, RZ was very flawed)

Even though the RZ crowd was generally quite bluebie you can appreciate the reasons it turned out that way. The item loot and FFA style must have made for some very interesting gameplay. I sure hope we get a new p99 pvp server soon. Got the EQ itch again!

I played RZ right after they patched to remove weapon loot.
PK's were absolutely BRANDED. Most people were role playing (at some level) and role players don't usually role play psychopath murderers. There was no somethingawful forums goonsquad yet. That mentality of game breaking didn't find its way to rallos zek for some time and when it did it was limited. I think it was on sullon and it was definitely on the discord server but that was a death server from the start and way late game in EQ timeline. If I had a time machine I'd take you there and you'd like it a lot.

This is why I will forever be a hopeless EQ pvp nerd. Isn't it amazing that each of the four pvp servers ended up being vastly different from the others? I would love to have experienced your beautiful Rallos Zek server. The pvp aspect of the Zek servers added such depth to the social experience that I truly feel sorry for all the bluebies who will never even know what they missed. The Zek players were the best roleplayers, and the true romantics of everquest. There is a touch of sadism in my nature and I genuinely hope I made a few people cry back on Vallon Zek, but mostly it was such an amazing experience playing a small role in something bigger than myself. Server politics actually mattered, because they dictated who you were "allowed" to group with or pk. The consequences for your actions were real but you always had the freedom to do what you wanted. It was very messy, and there was a lot of blood. I miss it dearly.

Us and the good team got basically wrecked and farmed by the neutrals and their endless armies of over-leveled (50+) halfling Druids But it was good times. Never seen so many trains in my life, and that includes at IRL train stations

Nice posts [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
I liked the FoHappiness way of blending RP and PVP with good humor. The time before the edgy Nazi n00bs organized into big JO parties was wonderful. That cultural shift is definitely the saddest loss for me [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] and perhaps why I post here.
