I can only speak anecdotally, but like I said kids identifying as gender confused, non-binary, and trans is exploding and parents are incorrectly assuming they are getting these “ideas” from school. From actually taking to the kids who identify this way, yes it does seem to have a fad element and appears that is very likely to be just a phase for many of them, but the parents are wrong that the kids are getting it from their teachers. From the mouths of the kids, it spreads among friend groups. One kid hears about a friend identifying as trans or non-binary and they start doing the same. I’m assuming the original is probably getting it from online Out of the hundreds of LGBT (call me old school but I stop the letters there), I have yet to have a kid mention they read about being non-binary or trans in a school book. And these are naive kids, they wouldn’t have the conceptualization to keep this info from adults for political purposes obviously

That’s why I just do the LGBT, because more letters added to that just confuses me

Or, more correctly I dont care. You cant accept others' weirdness (lets face it, its weird to wanna be called a paperclip or a poodle or gender non specific but whatev's) but expect everyone else to accept yours, weirdness that is. You are weird to someone. For any number of reasons. You dont even need to understand or accept them.

They would be alright with the QB of the football team fucking the prom queen but not if its two dudes or two girls. lol.. You're right that it is alot more common but thats because they wont get their heads caved in, put in jail, castrated, etc. At least not as much, but yeah. I dont think its a fad though. I think that people are curious and they will try things when given the opportunity. They dont face a huge social penalty for saying im bi or trans or whatever. One more thing. We have NO IDEA what its like to go to school these days. I cant even imagine. I think we should be like culture shocked if we spent a day in a classroom. You think so?

It also happens to be the approach I see 99% of parents taking. They aren’t saying (at least not to me), “well Timmy said he’s a girl so let’s dose him up with some estrogen”, and they’re not saying “Timmy is going to hell and I don’t love him anymore because he said he was a girl”, either. They are sitting back, expecting it to be a phase, and letting it play out. Now this is what they say to professionals, maybe they are getting Timmy hormones or chastising him behind closed doors, I dunno what happens behind closed doors I have only had to make one CPS report on a parent who didn’t accept his kids sexuality, and that was because it was a deadbeat parent who was also didn’t know where his kid was most of the time and spent most of the conversation with me insulting the kid. He’s probably lost custody a long time ago now. That’s it, that’s the only sexuality non-acceptance report I’ve made
