Yep. They should have never disarmed.

Yep. Sounds like we've found the Great Filter. There will never be geopolitical conditions in which the world disarms, and as long as we're armed, it is only a matter of time. In the matter of decades that we've had nuclear weapons, we've already had several very close calls. Extrapolate that over the next 10,000 years and there is just no way we survive.

The thing they omit in scifi is that like anyone with space youtube will be able to make a planet killing something or other by the time we can all fly around between different star systems IMO

I honestly dont know how life is supposed to exist without killing and wars, like it makes no sense that it's even possible unless you turn everyone into a robot.

We are on a path to global destruction. The Russian nuclear warfare doctrine commits nuclear first strike privileges against "any threat to the existence of the Russian state", including conventional war with NATO. Eventually, whether in 100, 1,000, or even 10,000 years, the Russian state will fall, and it is simply a matter of chance whether the conditions will be conducive to nuclear exchange. As long as these weapons are around, IT WILL EVENTUALLY HAPPEN.

As long as these weapons exist, it is only a matter of time until nuclear annihilation. We knew this for most of the last century, and I think all the boomers became so jaded living under that threat that they just shoved it to the back of their minds. It's just hopeless.

It is probably better that humanity does not exist. We treat other creatures with extreme cruelty, wantonly and wastefully destroying their habitats. The industrialized meat industry causes other conscious creatures, relatively close cousins to ourselves, untold, unimaginable pain and suffering. I think the Earth, and all life, will be better off, eventually, without us here. Some of the archaea at the bottom of the Mariana trench, or under the Antarctic ice sheets will survive and reseed Earth's life in a few billion years.

That being said, I'd very much like to finish living my life before it happens. Fuck Russia and their threats, their warmongering, their degenerate worthlessness. They have so little of value to add to the global exchange of thoughts and ideas, yet have done so much damage.

Needs more fortification, we are so afraid of WW3 and nukes that we prompted WW3 and nukes. Some strange compulsion.

I think you're being a little paranoid. We did successfully stop the development of new nuclear weapons. It's also creepy and antinatalist to suggest human beings shouldn't exist. You *are* a human being, I assume. What are you talking about man?? Are you ok?
