I would like to point out that Alexander Vindman's wounds were specifically a concussion he claims to have received. He was riding in an Mrap in the back of the convoy; he was a paper pusher attached to battalion HHC so he was just being transported. Everyone in the convoy received a purple heart that day. Vindman was back at work that night.

Some hearts are more equal than others.

EDIT: You don't get recommended for a PH. You're entitled to it if any specific criteria are met. Saying you have a headache within a quarter mile of any IED is valid.

This is the pre-negotiation phase. He knows and everyone knows the invasion is going to fail. He's trying to grab as much territory before his units mutiny and his people revolt so he can appear generous giving some of that back and then call it mission accomplished.

If Putin falls for the sunk cost fallacy, then there will be increasing pressure from him not to be an idiot from the rest of the people around him and in his country. I am just being optimistic. I understand the All-In nature, but he must understand that when he's sactioned up the ass and all of EU and NATO support Ukraine he can't win, and he has little to gain from making it into a massive disaster.

That's his best case scenario at this point.

However I feel the international community is going to throw the book at Russian Federation and he's going to look like trash no matter what.

I'm curious if Russian Fed gets to keep the recently stolen Crimean peninsula

The vast majority of the Russian people support Putin. This is because most of them get their news only from official TV. I forget what the exact figure was but it's like 70%. The rest, mostly younger people have the internet and other means of getting info and they see it. Those are the people getting arrested by the Literal Jackbooted Gestapo in public areas in Russia for holding up signs.

Artilery being fired from civilian areas. This was said to be why Palestine civilians were being killed by our leadership 6 months ago.

Ill give horza one thing, he's consistent, he was saying this was an OK practice by the Palestinians then too.

The language worked to convince american majority that it was ok to bomb civilians then, so I am sure in Russia the sentiment cant be too different.

Oh yeah perfectly valid. Urban terrain is best defensive terrain. Hard to spot from the air or a distance and the buildings shield you from counter-battery fire as you reposition. Force preservation and effective delivery of firepower take priority over civilians. It's not a matter of generating sentiment by provoking a response against civilian areas, it's just that if you put your artillery outside in the open fields the Russian jets will blow them up.
